What ho, friends!

We've been on a PG Wodehouse kick around here.

It started innocently enough, with a friend who loaned us the initial DVD in the Hugh Laurie/Stephen Fry series. I confess it took us a little effort to get into the series, but once bitten we became rabid fans. We quickly begged for all the remaining DVDs in the series and went through them in quick succession.

Next it was the source material. As our regulars know, we could never keep Wodehouse in stock, so we too had to go buy our own copies. A few of those, and before long we were *talking* like Bertie and Jeeves. And of course, we were planning our trip to London, so Tom was practicing the social graces in the event he'd find himself at the Drones Club.

But wait ... here's the point of all this: In an older film version of Jeeves and Wooster, starring David Niven and Arthur Treacher, the duo break out into song, gleefully singing "Drink Puppy Drink!" You remember, dear barflies, the song that we all learned to play on tinwhistle? The song that we played about 600 times as we marched in the Brookside St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2007? Remember?

Well, even if you don't recall, now I can point you to the video that can demonstrate what the song was supposed to sound like. It's "Thank you, Jeeves" on a disc with "Step Lively, Jeeves" from 1936. And, you can find some photos from that fateful parade here: http://picasaweb.google.com/ntshawver/BloomsdayBooks#5176972243436567666
