After we closed the shop, we promised we'd figure out ways to stay in touch with our friends, the Barflies. It took a little while, but we held our first gathering at our home in March. It was an all-star cast -- in no particular order: Sharon Campbell, Max Simpson, Bill Byrne, Joanne Rensch, Jason Harper and Angelina, Heather McNeill and Brooke Blackstone, Brian Shawver, Steve Paul, Kent Johnson, Greg Huff, John Donnelly, Sally, Phil and Priscilla Dibble, and via phone from Ireland, Liam Daly.

We started outside in the back yard, around our little campfire. The smoke only blew on the evil ones...at least until the rain came. Then we moved inside, where the many many many bottles of wine lubricated the conversation to a fine crescendo, interrupted only by the NCAA Tournament play in the other room (Jayhawks won, of course).

We closed up the evening with many of us heading off to Aixois for a fine dinner -- nothing better than a long table full of barflies!
